In 2024, the global cucumber trade generated export revenues of US$3.88 billion.
Compared with 2020, when cucumber exports were valued at $2.88 billion, this represents an overall growth of 34.5% over five years.
On a year-over-year basis, the total value of cucumbers shipped internationally increased by 3.6%, up from $3.74 billion in 2023.
Cucumbers play a vital role in global cuisine, widely used for their crisp texture in dishes ranging from fresh salads to pickled products such as gherkins.
Geographic Breakdown of Global Cucumber Exports
The top five exporting countries—Spain, Mexico, the Netherlands, Canada, and Türkiye—dominated global cucumber trade in 2024. Together, these leading suppliers accounted for 83.3% of worldwide cucumber exports by value, highlighting a highly concentrated export market.

In contrast, several major suppliers experienced export declines, including the United States (–10.1%), Greece (–7.7%), Poland (–7.4%), Türkiye (–6.3%), and Spain (–5.3%).
