Officially known as the United Mexican States, Mexico exported products worth approximately US$665.9 billion to international markets in 2025.
Compared with 2021, when Mexican exports totaled $494.5 billion, this represents a strong 34.7% increase over five years. On a year-over-year basis, the value of Mexico's exports also climbed by 7.5%, rising from $619.7 billion in 2024.
Based on the average exchange rate for 2025, the Mexican peso weakened by 5.8% compared to 2021 but strengthened by 4.9% against the US dollar from 2024 to 2025. This currency movement made Mexican goods priced in pesos relatively more competitive for global buyers using US dollars.
Mexico remains one of the world's leading exporters of trucks and also ranks among the top global suppliers of computers, automobiles, and automotive components.

Mexico's Main Export Markets
According to the latest country-specific trade data, 92.2% of Mexico's exports were purchased by importers from the following countries:
· United States: 81.9%
· Canada: 3.3%
· China: 1.5%
· Germany: 1.2%
· South Korea: 0.8%
· Brazil: 0.67%

· United Kingdom: 0.57%

From a regional perspective, North America dominated as the destination for Mexican exports, accounting for 87.1% of total export value. Asian markets represented 4.9%, while Europe absorbed another 4.3%.

With a population of approximately 133.4 million people, Mexico's total exports in 2025 equated to roughly $5,000 per resident, slightly below the $5,050 average recorded in 2024.

Together, these top 10 categories generated 81.6% of the total value of Mexico's worldwide exports.
Among the leading export sectors, machinery including computers recorded the fastest growth, surging 54.8% from 2024 to 2025. Ores, slag, and ash ranked second with a 27.1% increase, followed by gems and precious metals, which grew by 20%.
The weakest-performing category was mineral fuels including oil, which declined by 26.7% year over year.
