Compared with 2024, Vietnam's export value surged by 59.4%, rising from $403.2 billion. Based on average exchange rates in 2025, the Vietnamese dong appreciated by 3.7% against the US dollar, making Vietnamese products slightly more expensive for overseas buyers paying in US currency.

Vietnam's Key Export Markets
Recent trade statistics show that 74.5% of Vietnam's exports were purchased by a relatively concentrated group of trading partners. The United States remained Vietnam's largest export destination, accounting for 29.6% of total exports. Mainland China followed with 15.1%, while South Korea (6.3%), Japan (6.1%), and the Netherlands (3.2%) were also major buyers.
Other important export destinations included Hong Kong, India, Germany, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
From a regional perspective, Asian countries absorbed 47.1% of Vietnam's exports, while North America represented 33%. Europe accounted for another 15.6%. Smaller portions were shipped to Oceania (1.8%), Latin America (1.7%), and Africa (0.9%).
With a population of approximately 102.2 million people, Vietnam's export value in 2025 translates to about $6,300 per capita—far above the $3,800 recorded in 2024.

Together, these top 10 export categories accounted for more than 81% of Vietnam's total export value.
Among the fastest-growing categories, toys and games recorded the strongest increase, jumping by 209% compared to 2024. Machinery and computers followed with a 174.3% increase, while electrical machinery and equipment rose by 74.2%. Fruits and nuts experienced the slowest growth, though they still increased by 2.9%.
Top Export Products (Detailed Level)
At the more detailed four-digit HS code level, smartphones and related phone devices ranked as Vietnam's most valuable export product, accounting for 17.8% of total exports. Other major products included computers and optical readers (9.8%), computer parts and accessories (6.8%), flat-panel displays (4.2%), integrated circuits and microassemblies (3.7%), textile footwear (2.6%), leather footwear (1.8%), microphones and headphones (1.7%), furniture (1.6%), and insulated wire or cable (1.5%).
These leading products together generated 51.6% of Vietnam's total export revenues.
