Positioned along the eastern coastline of Africa and crossed by the equator, the Republic of Kenya exported goods valued at approximately US$6.4 billion in 2025.

Compared with 2021, when Kenya's export revenue stood at $6.74 billion, the latest figure represents a 5.1% decline over the five-year period.

On a year-over-year basis, Kenya's exports experienced a sharper contraction, falling by 22.5% from $8.26 billion recorded in 2024.

Using the average exchange rate for 2025, the Kenyan shilling weakened by 3.8% against the US dollar compared to the previous year. A softer local currency generally makes Kenyan products more competitively priced for overseas buyers paying in U.S. dollars.
